Absorbine JR (capsicum) is used to treat athlete's fungal infections such as foot and ringworm in patients over 2 years of age.

Do not take Absorbine JR (capsicum) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Absorbine JR (capsicum). Unless your doctor tells you to, you should not use topical antifungals on children under 2 years of age. You should not use for diaper rash.

Before using Absorbine JR (capsicum), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have any other medical condition

Burns severely on initial applications to severely damaged skin. Absorbine JR (capsicum) is for use on the skin only. Do not get it in your eyes, nose, or mouth. Do not use on skin areas that have cuts or scrapes. If it does get on these areas, rinse it off right away.

How much medicine you use and how often you use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Absorbine JR (capsicum) you are using, talk with your health care provider. Absorbine JR (capsicum) is for external use only. Avoid spraying into the eyes. Clean the affected area and dry thoroughly before using Absorbine JR (capsicum). Shake the can well before using. Spray a thin layer of the product over the affected area twice daily (morning and night) or as directed by your health care provider. For athlete's foot, pay special attention to the spaces between the toes. Wear well-fitting ventilated shoes and change shoes and socks at least once daily. Use Absorbine JR (capsicum) daily for 4 weeks or as directed by your health care provider. This product is not effective on the scalp or nails. Supervise children who are using Absorbine JR (capsicum). Do not use in children under 2 years of age unless directed to do so by your health care provider. Stop using Absorbine JR (capsicum) and contact your health care provider if irritation occurs, or if no improvement is seen after 4 weeks of using Absorbine JR (capsicum). Do not use Absorbine JR (capsicum) while smoking or near heat or flame. Contents are flammable. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling contents can be harmful or fatal. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. Do not take more medicine than recommended unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Absorbine JR (capsicum). If a dose is missed, use it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, restart medication if necessary.

Store Absorbine JR (capsicum) at controlled room temperature (36 to 86 degrees F). Do not store above 120 degrees F. Do not puncture or throw the can into fire.
