Do not use Absorbine (menthol) if you/your child is allergic to any ingredient in Absorbine (menthol), you have skin infection, if you have broken and irritated skin |

Before using Absorbine (menthol), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you/your child is taking any other prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplements if your child has any other medical condition |

Absorbine (menthol) is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and broken or irritated skin. Keep this and all medicines out of the reach of children. |

Most common: Redness, burning or soreness of the skin (temporary).

How should I take Absorbine (menthol)?
|
How much medicine you give and how often it is given depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Absorbine (menthol) you are giving, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the labeling information provided with Absorbine (menthol). Absorbine (menthol) is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not place in mouth or nostrils. Rub a thick layer of Absorbine (menthol) on the throat and chest or as directed by your health care provider and cover the areas with a warm, dry cloth if desired. Repeat application up to 3 times daily, especially at bedtime, or as directed by your health care provider. Stop using Absorbine (menthol) and contact your health care provider if redness or soreness of the skin occurs. If cough continues for more than 1 week or is accompanied by a fever, rash, or persistent headache contact your child's health care provider. Do not give any over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. Parents of children with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before giving Absorbine (menthol). Do not give more medicine than recommended unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have given too much of Absorbine (menthol).

How should Absorbine (menthol) be stored?

Store Absorbine (menthol) at controlled room temperature (59 to 86 degrees F). Close cap tightly after use. |
