Accupril (quinapril) is used to treat high blood pressure in adults. It is used along with other medications to manage heart failure.

Do not take Accupril (quinapril) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Accupril (quinapril) if you have a history of chest pain related to previous treatment with Accupril (quinapril) or to similar medications after the third month of pregnancy

Before using Accupril (quinapril), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition (such as, kidney problems)

Do not use after the third month of pregnancy. When Accupril (quinapril) is used after the third month of pregnancy, Accupril (quinapril) and similar medications can cause injury and even death to the developing fetus.

Other: Angina (severe chest pain), back pain, bleeding in the stomach or intestines, bronchitis, changes in heart rhythm, constipation, depression, diarrhea, dimmed vision, dizziness when first standing up, dry mouth or throat, extremely high blood pressure, fainting, fluid accumulation and swelling, gas, hair loss, heart attack, heart failure, hepatitis, high potassium, impotence, increased blood pressure, increased sweating, indigestion, inflammation of the pancreas, inflammation of the sinuses, insomnia, itching, kidney failure, joint pain, low blood pressure, muscle pain, nervousness, numbness/tingling, palpitations, rapid heartbeat, rash, sensitivity to light, severe allergic reactions, skin peeling, sleepiness, sore throat, stroke, swelling of the mouth and throat, urinary tract infection, vague feeling of illness, vertigo

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Accupril (quinapril) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Report to your health care provider if you think that you pregnant. Your health care provider should explain to you the danger Accupril (quinapril) poses to the unborn child if the medication is taken after the third month of pregnancy. If you experience swelling of the face, extremities, eyes, lips, or tongue, difficulty swallowing or breathing, stop taking Accupril (quinapril) and talk with your health care provider as soon as possible. Contact your health care provider if you notice any yellowing of the skin or eyes. Lightheadedness can occur, especially during the first few days of taking Accupril (quinapril). If this occurs, tell your health care provider. If fainting occurs, stop taking Accupril (quinapril) until you talk with your health care provider. Excessive sweating, not drinking enough fluids, diarrhea, or vomiting can lead to an excessive fall in blood pressure. These conditions can cause fainting and lightheadedness. Dizziness or lightheadedness may occur if you stand up too fast from lying or sitting. Get up slowly and avoid sudden posture changes. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness. Patients being treated for high blood pressure may feel tired or rundown for a few weeks after beginning therapy. Continue taking Accupril (quinapril) even though you may not feel quite "normal". Before undergoing surgery, tell your health care provider that you are taking Accupril (quinapril) or similar medications. Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes containing potassium without talking with your health care provider. Report any sign of infection, such as sore throat or fever, to your health care provider. A persistent, dry, nonproductive cough may occur. Tell your health care provider if this occurs. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking Accupril (quinapril) without checking with your health care provider. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.

Store Accupril (quinapril) Tablet between 59 to 86 degrees F. Protect from light.
