Do not take Adoxa (not available in Canada) just before going to bed. It may not dissolve properly when you are lying down and can cause pain in your throat. Adoxa (not available in Canada) may increase your sensitivity to sun. Keep out of the sun, or wear protective clothing outdoors and use a sunscreen. Do not use sun lamps or sun tanning beds or booths while using Adoxa (not available in Canada). |
What are the side effects of Adoxa (not available in Canada)?

Most severe: Dark yellow or brown urine, difficulty breathing, increased sensitivity to the sun or ultraviolet light, headache, itching in the rectal or genital area, pain on swallowing, redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth, stomach pain or cramps

Most common: Diarrhea, discolored tongue, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, sore mouth
|
|
Other: Skin rash or itching, tingling or numbness of the hands or feet, unusual bleeding or bruising, unusual tiredness or weakness, yellowing of eyes or skin.

How should I take Adoxa (not available in Canada)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Adoxa (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Adoxa (not available in Canada) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Adoxa (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Birth control pills (contraceptive pills) may not work properly while you are taking Adoxa (not available in Canada). Use an extra method of birth control for at least one month. Antacids can stop Adoxa (not available in Canada) from working properly. If you get an upset stomach and want to take an antacid, make sure there is an interval of at least 2 hours since you last took doxycycline, or 4 hours before your next dose.
