Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) is used to temporarily relieve symptoms of cold, sinus inflammation, and flu including stuffy nose, headache, fever, body aches and pains.

When should Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) not be taken?

Do not take Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) or to similar medicines you are currently taking or have taken a monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitor within the last 14 days you are in your third trimester of pregnancy if you consume 3 or more alcoholic drinks per day |

Before using Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have high blood pressure if you have heart disease if you have diabetes if you have difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate if you have thyroid disease if you have any other medical condition |

Do not take this product if you have had a severe allergic reaction to aspirin. Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) may cause a severe allergic reaction which may include hives facial swelling asthma (wheezing) shock and stomach bleeding. |
What are the side effects of Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine)?

Most severe: Allergic reaction (hives; wheezing; swelling of the face; shock [changes in skin color]).

Most common: Stomach upset; stomach pain; heartburn; nervousness; dizziness; sleeplessness.

Other: Unexplained weight gain or fluid retention, irregular heartbeat (fast or slow heartbeat), palpitations

How should I take Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often it is taken depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the labeling information provided with Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine). Give Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) with food or milk to avoid heartburn, stomach pain, or upset stomach. Do not use this product with other medicines containing ibuprofen or any other pain reliever. Take the smallest effective dose of Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine). Do not take Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) for more than 7 days for a cold or for more than 3 days for a fever unless directed to do so by a health care provider. If the cold or fever persists or gets worse, or if any new symptoms occur, contact your health care provider. Stop using Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) and contact your health care provider if nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness occurs. If you develop any unusual symptoms that seem unrelated to the condition for which you took this product, consult a doctor before using any more of it. Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) may cause dizziness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Do not take Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) if you are currently taking an MAO inhibitor. If you are not certain whether your other medicines contain an MAO inhibitor, consult your health care provider. Consult a health care provider before giving Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine) to children under 12 years of age. Do not take any over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine). Do not take more medicine than recommended unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Contact a health care provider if you feel you have taken too much of Advil Cold and Sinus (ibuprofen/pseudoephedrine).
