What is Alocril (nedocromil) used for? |
Alocril (nedocromil) is for the treatment of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis.

Do not wear contact lenses while using Alocril (nedocromil). Do not touch the dropper to any surface, including your eyes or hands. The dropper is sterile. If it becomes contaminated, it could cause an infection in your eye. |
What are the side effects of Alocril (nedocromil)?

Most severe: Serious side effects are not expected with Alocril (nedocromil).
|
|
Most common: Headache; eye irritation; unpleasant taste; stuffy nose.
|
|
Other: Difficulty breathing; eye redness; sensitivity to light; itchy eyes.

How should I take Alocril (nedocromil)?
|
How much medicine you use and how often you use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Alocril (nedocromil) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. To use, tilt head back and place one or two drops in each eye twice a day. Blink your eyes a few time to make sure the eye is covered with the solution. Close your eye and remove any excess solution with a clean tissue. Do not wear contact lenses while using Alocril (nedocromil). Continue to use Alocril (nedocromil) even though you do not have any symptoms. Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye, fingers, or any other surface. Throw away any remaining contents after the treatment period prescribed to you by your health care provider. Do not use any other eye medication while taking Alocril (nedocromil). Do not stop using Alocril (nedocromil) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using Alocril (nedocromil). Do not use more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to "catch up," unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
