What is Anakit (discontinued) used for? |
Anakit (discontinued) is used for the immediate treatment of allergic or anaphyllactic reaction that may be caused by food - peanuts and shellfish are the most common, although any food can be responsible, drugs - penicillin and vaccines are common causes, insect stings - from wasps, bees or hornets, rarely strenuous exercise in combination with another factor, for example, exercise & celery, or exercise & shellfish

How should I take Anakit (discontinued)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Anakit (discontinued) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Anakit (discontinued) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Anakit (discontinued). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Examine the syringe contents periodically. Do not use if the solution has a pinkish or darker than slightly yellow colou or contains a precipitate. Remove the blue plastic needle cover
Hold the syringe upright and push plunger to expel air and excess epinephrine. The plunger will stop automatically. For children under 12 years of age, you must adjust the dosage. The syringe barrel is marked in 0.1 ml graduations so smaller doses can be given. It is generally easier to expel the volume not required before inserting the needle into the arm or thigh. Rotate the rectangular plunger 1/4 turn to the right. The plunger will stop when alinged with the slot in the barrel of the syringe. Wipe the injection site with alcohol swab. Insert needle straight into arm or thigh
Push plunger until it stops. Syringe will inject a 0.3 ml dose for adults and children over 12 years of age.
