Anaspaz (not available in Canada) is an antispasmodic medication given to help treat various stomach, intestinal, and urinary tract disorders that involve cramps, colic, or other painful muscle contractions. Because Anaspaz (not available in Canada) has a drying effect, it may also be used to dry a runny nose or to dry excess secretions before anesthesia is administered.

Do not take Anaspaz (not available in Canada) if you are allergic to Anaspaz (not available in Canada) or to any ingredient present in Anaspaz (not available in Canada), if you have diarrhea, bowel or digestive tract obstruction or paralysis, glaucoma (excessive pressure in the eyes), myasthenia gravis (a disorder in which muscles become weak and tire easily), ulcerative colitis (severe bowel inflammation) or urinary obstruction

Before using Anaspaz (not available in Canada), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking any herbal products, if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment, heart ot lung problem

Use ecaution while using Anaspaz (not available in Canada) if you have an overactive thyroid gland, heart disease, congestive heart failure, irregular heartbeats, high blood pressure, or kidney disease.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Anaspaz (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Anaspaz (not available in Canada) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Anaspaz (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Anaspaz (not available in Canada) may make you sweat less, causing your body temperature to increase and putting you at the risk of heatstroke. Try to stay inside as much as possible on hot days, and avoid warm places such as very hot baths and saunas. If you take Anaspaz (not available in Canada) for a stomach disorder, you may also need to take antacid medication. However, antacids make Levsin more difficult for the body to absorb. To minimize this problem, take Anaspaz (not available in Canada) before meals and the antacid after meals. Anaspaz (not available in Canada) can cause dry mouth. For temporary relief, suck on a hard candy or chew gum.

Store Anaspaz (not available in Canada) in a dry place at room temperature between 59° - 86°F. Keep out of reach of children and pets
