Apply a small amount of Anbesol (benzocaine) to the affected gum area with fingertips or cotton swab. Do not use Anbesol (benzocaine) more than 7 days. If sore mouth symptoms do not improve in 7 days, or if irritation, pain, rash, or fever develops, see a dentist or doctor at once. Fever and nasal congestion are not symptoms of teething and may indicate infection. If these symptoms continue, talk with your doctor. Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider.
