What is Armour Thyroid (natural thyroid) used for? |
Armour Thyroid (natural thyroid) is used when the thyroid gland does not produce enough hormone. They are also used to help decrease the size of enlarged thyroid glands (known as goiter) and to treat thyroid cancer.

Do not take Armour Thyroid (natural thyroid) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Armour Thyroid (natural thyroid) or to similar medications. |

Before using Armour Thyroid (natural thyroid), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have impairment of heart, lung, liver and kidney functions |

Most severe: Chest pain; confusion; fast or irregular heartbeat; mood swings; muscle weakness; psychosis; restlessness (extreme); yellow eyes or skin; shortness of breath

Most common: Headache (severe) in children; skin rash or hives

Other: Clumsiness; coldness; constipation; dry, puffy skin; listlessness; muscle aches; sleepiness; tiredness; weakness, weight gain, appetite; changes in menstrual periods; diarrhea; fever; hand tremors; headache; increased sensitivity to heat; irritability; leg cramps; nervousness; sweating; trouble in sleeping; vomiting; weight loss

How should I take Armour Thyroid (natural thyroid)?

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Armour Thyroid (natural thyroid) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Armour Thyroid (natural thyroid).
