Avelox (moxifloxacin) is an antibiotic and is used to treat sinus and lung infections

Do not take Avelox (moxifloxacin) if you are allergic to any component present in Avelox (moxifloxacin) If you have ever had an allergic reaction to any other quinolone antibiotic, such as Cipro, Floxin, Levaquin, Maxaquin, Noroxin, or Penetrex,

Before using Avelox (moxifloxacin), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment or heart problem

Do not take Avelox (moxifloxacin) with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Advil, Motrin, and Naprosyn because it may increase the risk of nerve stimulation and convulsions. Avelox may make you dizzy or light-headed. Do not drive a car, operate machinery, or engage in activities requiring mental alertness or coordination until you know how the drug affects you.

Other: Anxiety, appetite loss, bladder infection, blood clotting changes, back pain, body pain, breathing difficulties, chest pain, chills, confusion, constipation, cough, digestive system disorders, dim vision, drowsiness, dry mouth, dry skin, fungal infections, gassiness, hallucinations, hand pain, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, incoordination, increased cough, insomnia, irregular heartbeat, itching, joint pain, labored breathing, leg pain, low blood pressure, mouth sores, nasal inflammation, nervousness, personality changes, pneumonia, rapid heartbeat, rash, sinus inflammation, sore throat, stomach irritation, sweating, swelling, tingling or burning sensations, tongue inflammation, tremors, urinary inflammation, vaginal inflammation, vague feeling of illness, vertigo, weakness, yellow eyes and skin

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Avelox (moxifloxacin) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Avelox (moxifloxacin) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Avelox (moxifloxacin). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.

Store Avelox (moxifloxacin) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
