How should I take Bactroban (mupirocin)?
|
Bactroban (mupirocin) is for external use only. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Wash your hands before and after applying. Before applying, wash the affected area with mild soap and water and pat dry. Apply a small amount to the affected area and rub gently. You can cover the area with a gauze dressing. Do not use Bactroban (mupirocin) more often than directed. Finish the full course of medicine prescribed by your prescriber or health care professional even if you think your condition is better. Do not use over large areas of burnt skin. Apply missed doses as soon as possible after the dose was due, but do not use if it is nearly time for your next dose No interactions have been reported, but other skin products applied to the infected area may interact with mupirocin. Tell your prescriber or health care professional if you are using other skin products, including non-prescription skin products. Ask before stopping or starting any of Bactroban (mupirocin)s. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.

Store Bactroban (mupirocin) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets. |
