What is Bonine (meclizine) used for? |
Bonine (meclizine) is used to prevent and treat nausea, vomiting, and dizziness due to motion sickness, radiation sickness in adults and children 12 years of age and older.

Before using Bonine (meclizine), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions. |

Bonine (meclizine) may occasionally cause drowsiness, patients receiving treatment with Bonine (meclizine) should take the necessary precautions against driving or operating dangerous machinery. Patients suffering from glaucoma or prostatic enlargement should take Bonine (meclizine) only under the direction of a health care peovider. |

Most severe: Blurred or double vision, constipation, diarrhea, difficult or painful urination, dizziness, dryness of mouth, nose, and throat, fast heartbeat, headache, loss of appetite, nervousness, restlessness, or trouble sleeping, skin rash, upset stomach

How should I take Bonine (meclizine)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Bonine (meclizine) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Take Bonine (meclizine) as directed by your health care provider. Swallow tablets whole. Do not crush or chew them. Swallow tablets quickly to lessen the chance of mouth irritation. High doses of Bonine (meclizine) may cause loose stools. Do not stop taking Bonine (meclizine) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Bonine (meclizine). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
