Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate) is used to make breathing easier by widening breathing passages of the lung and by removing (expectorating) mucus and other debris in the lungs.

What are the side effects of Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate)?

Most severe: Tremor, palpitations, restlessness, headache, muscle cramps, nervousness, increased heart rate, ectopic beats, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, sweating and dizziness.
|
|
Most common: Difficulty breathing; wheezing.
|
|
Other: Chest pain; vomiting; dizziness; inability to sleep; unusual taste; dry or irritated throat.

How should I take Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. The dose is 2 inhalations separated by a 60-second interval and repeated every 4 to 6 hours. Do not use Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate) more than every 6 hours. If the normal dose of Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate) fails to provide the usual relief, talk with your health care provider. This may be a sign of serious worsening asthma requiring the reassessment of Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate). Do not take other inhaled medicines that have not been prescribed by your health care provider. Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate) may cause dizziness. Patients should observe caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Do not stop taking Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Bricanyl Turbuhaler (terbutaline sulfate). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
