Brometane (not available in Canada) is used for the treatment of sneezing, runny nose, stuffy nose, and cough caused by hay fever, colds, or flu.

Do not use Brometane (not available in Canada) if you are allergic to this or similar medicines or to any ingredient present in Brometane (not available in Canada), if you have taken an MAO inhibitor such as Nardil, Marplan, Eldepryl, or Parnate within the past 14 days, if you have phenylketonuria.

Before using Brometane (not available in Canada), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking any herbal products, if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment, heart ot lung problem, high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, seizure disorders, asthma, emphysema, an enlarged prostate, urinary blockage, or an overactive thyroid.

Brometane (not available in Canada) can make you drowsy or restless. Avoid taking at bedtime if it makes you restless. Avoid driving, using machines, or doing anything else that could be dangerous if you are not alert. Avoid drinking alcohol or using any other medicines that make you sleepy. These include sleeping pills, other cold and allergy medicine, narcotic pain relievers, and sedatives.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Brometane (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Brometane (not available in Canada) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Brometane (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Children may be more sensitive to Brometane (not available in Canada) than adults, especially if they take too much. Always read Brometane (not available in Canada) label closely so you give your child the right amount. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you are not sure how much medicine to give your child. If your symptoms do not improve within 7 days or if they get worse, or if you have a severe sore throat, fever, or thick yellow or green mucus, call your doctor. Measure the oral liquid with a marked medicine spoon, oral syringe, medicine cup, or medicine dropper. You might need to shake Brometane (not available in Canada) before you use it.

Store Brometane (not available in Canada) in a dry place at room temperature between 59° - 86°F. Keep out of reach of children and pets
