How should I take Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol)?
|
How much medicine you give and how often it is given depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol) you are giving, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the labeling information provided with Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol). Shake well before using. Give Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol) according to the dosing instructions or as directed by a health care provider. Use only the enclosed measuring cup provided to give Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol). Do not use any other device. Do not give Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol) with any other product containing acetaminophen. Stop giving Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol) and contact your health care provider if nervousness, dizziness, or sleeplessness occurs while giving Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol). Do not give Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol) for pain for more than 5 days or for fever for more than 3 days unless directed to do so by a health care provider. If pain or fever persists or gets worse, if new symptoms occur, or if redness or swelling is present, consult a health care provider. These could be signs of a serious condition. Diabetes patients -- Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol) may affect your child's blood sugar levels. Your doctor may need to change the amount of diabetes medicine your child is taking. Do not give Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol) if your child is currently taking or has taken an MAO inhibitor within the last 2 weeks. If you are uncertain whether any other medications contain an MAO inhibitor, check with your health care provider. Consult a health care provider before giving Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol) to patients under 6 years of age. Do not give any over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before giving Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol). Do not give more medicine than recommended unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have given too much of Cepacol Lozenges (benzocaine/menthol).
