Cetrotide (not available in Canada) is intended for subcutaneous (under the skin) administration. If you are administering Cetrotide (not available in Canada) at home, your doctor will give you detailed instructions on how to mix the solution and administer the injection. Do not inject cetrorelix if you are not sure how. Cetrotide (not available in Canada) may be prescribed for use as a single dose (3 mg), or for use once a day (0.25 mg). Your doctor will determine which treatment regimen is best for you. Follow your doctor's instructions. Wash your hands well with soap and water before preparing and administering Cetrotide (not available in Canada). |
What are the side effects of Cetrotide (not available in Canada)?

Most severe: An allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of your throat; swelling of your lips, tongue, or face; or hives).
|

Most common: Nausea, headache, redness, bruising, itching, or swelling at the injection site.
|
|
Other: Severe pelvic pain, swelling of the hands or legs, abdominal pain and swelling, shortness of breath, weight gain, low urine output, diarrhea, and nausea or vomiting
|
How should I take Cetrotide (not available in Canada)?

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Cetrotide (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Cetrotide (not available in Canada) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Cetrotide (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
