What is Claritin Syrup (loratidine) used for? |
Claritin Syrup (loratidine) is used to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies and hives in patients 6 years of age and older who are unable to take the tablet form of Claritin Syrup (loratidine).

Most severe: Fatigue, headache, drowsiness

Most common: Tiredness; dry mouth; nervousness; wheezing; hyperactivity; stomach pain; pink eye; difficulty speaking; general body discomfort.

Other: Abdominal discomfort or pain, abnormal dreams, agitation, anxiety, back pain, blurred vision, breast enlargement, breast pain, bronchitis, change in salivation, change in taste, chest pain, confusion, conjunctivitis (pinkeye), constipation, coughi

How should I take Claritin Syrup (loratidine)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Claritin Syrup (loratidine) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not take alcohol and other medicines that cause drowsiness (eg, narcotics, tranquilizers, antihistamines) while taking Claritin Syrup (loratidine). Do not stop taking Claritin Syrup (loratidine) without checking with your doctor. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Claritin Syrup (loratidine). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
