Before using Codiclear (not available in Canada), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking any herbal products, if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment, heart ot lung problem, glaucoma, heart disease or high blood pressure, thyroid disease, emphysema or chronic bronchitis, or difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate. |

What are the side effects of Codiclear (not available in Canada)?

Most severe: Side or back pain that extends to the groin (signs of kidney stones), confusion, difficulty breathing, decreased ability to pass urine, feeling faint, slow or fast heartbeat
|

Most common: Blurred vision, constipation or diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, itching, stomach upset, nausea
|
|
Other: Symptoms of a overdose include dry mouth, large pupils, flushing, nausea, and vomiting
|
How should I take Codiclear (not available in Canada)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Codiclear (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Codiclear (not available in Canada) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Codiclear (not available in Canada). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Your mouth may get dry. Drinking plenty of water, chewing sugarless gum or sucking on hard candy may help to relieve dry mouth symptoms. Also, Codiclear (not available in Canada) may cause dry eyes and blurred vision. If you wear contact lenses you may feel some discomfort. Lubricating drops may help. See your ophthalmologist if the problem does not go away or is severe. This cough medicine may cause constipation. You may need to take a laxative and/or a stool softener. Try to have a bowel movement at least every 2—3 days. If you do not have a bowel movement for 3 days or more call your prescriber or health care professional. They may recommend using an enema or suppository to help you move your bowels.
