Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) is prescribed for people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who are using a medicine that is not effective any more.

Do not take Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) or to similar medications if you have had a reaction to atropine-containing drugs such as Donnatal, or if you are allergic to peanuts, soybeans, or soy lecithin.

Before using Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment or heart problem

Excessive and prolonged use of this product can be fatal. Do not increase the dose or frequency without your doctor's okay. If you find that Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) is becoming less effective, that your symptoms are getting worse, or that you need the product more frequently than usual, see your doctor immediately.

Other: Fatigue, flushing, hair loss, heartburn, high or low blood pressure, increased sputum, indigestion, influenza, insomnia, irregular heartbeat, itching, joint pain, loss of coordination, mouth sores, nasal congestion, nausea, nervousness, pneumonia, rapid or pounding heartbeat, respiratory disorders, runny nose, sinusitis, sore throat, stimulation, stomach and intestinal problems, swelling, tingling or burning sensation, tremors, urinary problems, vomiting, weakness, wheezing, worsening of COPD symptoms

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. If you suffer severe breathing difficulties after a dose of Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol), stop using it and see your doctor immediately. Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) has been known to raise heart rate and blood pressure. It can also cause changes in heart rhythm. If you have a weak heart, an irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, or any other heart problem, you'll need to use Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) with caution. If it triggers heart-related symptoms, check with your doctor at once. The product may have to be discontinued. Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) can aggravate glaucoma (high pressure in the eye), prostate enlargement, and urinary difficulties. The albuterol it contains can cause problems for people with epilepsy, diabetes, or an overactive thyroid. Use Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) with caution if you have any of these conditions. If the aerosol gets in your eyes, it can cause eye pain or discomfort, blurred vision, visual halos, colored images, or high pressure in the eye. Check with your doctor immediately if you develop any of these problems

Store Combivent Inhaler (ipratropium/salbutamol) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets. Do not puncture the canister or discard it in an incinerator. Protect from high humidity.
