What is Condyline Solution (podofilox) used for? |
Condyline Solution (podofilox) is used for the topical treatment of external genital warts (Condylomata acuminata) confined to the penile and vulvar regions.

When should Condyline Solution (podofilox) not be taken?
|
Do not take Condyline Solution (podofilox) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Condyline Solution (podofilox) or to similar medications, if you have open wounds, if you have broken or irritated skin. |
What precautions should I follow when taking Condyline Solution (podofilox) ?

Before using Condyline Solution (podofilox), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment or heart problem |
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Condyline Solution (podofilox)?

Condyline Solution (podofilox) is for topical use only. Extreme care should be taken to avoid contact with the eye, tongue or any mucosal tissue of the genital area (including vagina, cervix, anus or perianus). If contact with the eyes occurs, flush immediately with copious amounts of water and see a doctor immediately |
What are the side effects of Condyline Solution (podofilox)?

Most severe: Bleeding of treated skin, blistering, burning, crusting, or scabbing of treated skin, blood in the urine, dizziness, headache, severe skin rash or swelling, skin ulceration, vomiting (may indicate excessive dosage)

Most common: Bad odor, difficulty sleeping, dry skin, flaking or peeling of the skin, mild redness or itching of the skin, pain during sexual intercourse, problems with the foreskin of the penis, skin discoloration, skin soreness, stinging, swelling of the skin

How should I take Condyline Solution (podofilox)?
|
How much medicine you use and how often you use it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Condyline Solution (podofilox) you are using, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop using Condyline Solution (podofilox) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Condyline Solution (podofilox). Do not use more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not use any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
