Most severe: Rash or redness around the eye
|

Most common: Burning or stinging while applying Cromolyn Eyedrops (sodium cromoglycate).

Other: Watery eyes; itchy eyes; dryness around the eye; puffy eyes; eye irritation; stye.

How should I take Cromolyn Eyedrops (sodium cromoglycate)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Cromolyn Eyedrops (sodium cromoglycate) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Take Cromolyn Eyedrops (sodium cromoglycate) at regular intervals as directed by your health care provider. Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other medicine. Do not wear soft contact lenses during treatment with Cromolyn Eyedrops (sodium cromoglycate). Make sure the tip of the dropper does not touch any surface, including your eye, since this may contaminate Cromolyn Eyedrops (sodium cromoglycate) or cause damage to the eye. Brief stinging or burning of the eye may occur after administration. Relief of symptoms (itching, tearing, redness and discharge) is usually seen within a few days, but can take up to 6 weeks. Do not stop taking Cromolyn Eyedrops (sodium cromoglycate) without checking with your doctor. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Cromolyn Eyedrops (sodium cromoglycate). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
