Demerol (controlled, not able to ship) is a a narcotic analgesic, is prescribed for the relief of moderate to severe pain.

Do not take Demerol (controlled, not able to ship) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Demerol (controlled, not able to ship) or to similar medications, if you take MAO inhibitors such as Nardil and Parnate.

Before using Demerol (controlled, not able to ship), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions, if you have a severe liver or kidney disorder, hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland), Addison's disease (adrenal gland failure), an enlarged prostate, a urethral stricture (narrowing of the tube leading from the bladder), a head injury, a severe abdominal condition, or an irregular heartbeat, or if you have ever had convulsions.

Demerol (controlled, not able to ship) may affect you both mentally and physically. You should not drive a car, operate machinery, or perform any other potentially hazardous activities until you know how the drug affects you. Use Demerol (controlled, not able to ship) with caution if you have a severe liver or kidney disorder, hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland), Addison's disease (adrenal gland failure), an enlarged prostate, a urethral stricture (narrowing of the tube leading from the bladder), a head injury, a severe abdominal condition, or an irregular heartbeat, or if you have ever had convulsions.

Other: Symptoms of overdose include: Bluish discoloration of the skin, cold and clammy skin, coma or extreme sleepiness, limp, weak muscles, low blood pressure, slow heartbeat, troubled or slowed breathing

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Demerol (controlled, not able to ship) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Demerol (controlled, not able to ship) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Demerol (controlled, not able to ship). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Be very careful taking this drug if you are having a severe asthma attack, if you have frequently recurring lung disease, if you are unable to inhale or exhale extra air when needed, or if you have any pre-existing breathing difficulties. Because may cause unusually slow or troubled breathing and may increase the pressure from fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord, this drug should be used by people with head injury only if the doctor considers it absolutely necessary.

Store Demerol (controlled, not able to ship) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
