Before using Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you are taking any herbal products, if you are taking blood thinners if you have stomach problems if you have peptic ulcers if you have any other medical condition like liver or kidney function impairment, heart ot lung problem |

Avoid any contact of Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) with your eyes or inside your nose or mouth; doing so could cause irritation. Avoid contact of Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) with hair or colored fabric/clothing because it may bleach or cause discoloration. |
What are the side effects of Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide)?

Most severe: Skin peeling, fatal intestinal problem pseudomembranous colitis.
|
|
Most common: Dry skin, redness/irritation, or itching/burning
|
|
Other: Persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain, or blood/mucous in your stool
|
How should I take Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) may make you more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths and sunlamps. Use a sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Based on information of related drugs, Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) may pass into breast milk. Therefore, breast-feeding while using Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast- feeding. Before applying each dose, gently wash the affected areas, rinse the areas with warm water, and pat dry. Apply a small amount of Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) to the affected areas of the skin as directed by your doctor. Gently rub Duac Gel (clindamycin/ benzoyl peroxide) into the skin using your fingertips or an applicator. Wash your hands after each use.
