Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) is prescribed for fungal skin diseases commonly called ringworm (tinea).

Do not take Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) or to similar medications.

Before using Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) is not for ophthalmic use. Marked irritation or sensitization should occur during topical or intravaginal use of Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate). If this occurs, discontinue the use of Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) and consult you health care provider immediately.

Other: Burning; itching; stinging; redness.

How much medicine you use and how often you use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) you are using, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Use Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) exactly as directed by your health care provider. Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Apply Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) to the affected areas once daily for at least 4 weeks. If irritation or other signs of an allergic reaction (rash; hives; itching; burning; stinging; redness) develop, stop using Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) and contact your doctor. Stop using Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) if a reaction suggesting sensitivity or chemical irritation (increased redness and tenderness) occur. Contact your health care provider if no improvement is seen after the full treatment period. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate). Do not stop using Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) without checking with your doctor. Do not use more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have used too much of Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate). Do not use any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, use it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, restart medication and advise your doctor or pharmacist.

Store Ecostatin Topical Cream (econazole nitrate) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
