How should I take Eldoquin (hydroquinone)?
|
How much medicine you should use and how often you should use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Eldoquin (hydroquinone) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Eldoquin (hydroquinone). Inform you health care provider or pharmacist of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Do not stop or start any medicine without health care provider or pharmacist approval. Inform your health care provider of any other medical conditions, allergies (especially to sulfites), pregnancy, or if you are breast-feeding. Do not use Eldoquin (hydroquinone) if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any other ingredient in this product. Some brands of Eldoquin (hydroquinone) contain sulfites. If you are allergic to sulfites, contact your health care provider or pharmacist for instructions. Protect your skin from sun during and after the use of Eldoquin (hydroquinone). Limit sun exposure, use a sunscreen, and wear sun-protective clothing to cover the treated areas. Some forms of Eldoquin (hydroquinone) contain a sunscreen. Ask your health care provider or pharmacist if the use of additional sunscreen is necessary. Avoid getting Eldoquin (hydroquinone) in your eyes, on your lips, or on the inside of your nose or mouth. If you get some in your eyes, wash them out with water and contact your health care provider. If you get Eldoquin (hydroquinone) on your lips or on the inside of your nose or mouth, rinse with water. The staining can be removed by stopping the use of the peroxide and washing your skin with soap and water. Do not use Eldoquin (hydroquinone) with other medicines containing Resorcinol, Phenol or Salicylic acid. unless otherwise directed by your health care provider. Fot Women: If you plan on becoming pregnant, discuss with your health care provider the benefits and risks of using Eldoquin (hydroquinone) during pregnancy. It is not known if Eldoquin (hydroquinone) is excreted in breast milk. If you are or will be breast feeding while you are using Eldoquin (hydroquinone), check with your health care provider or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby. If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. If your skin condition does not improve after using Eldoquin (hydroquinone) for 2 months, contact your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Eldoquin (hydroquinone). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
