What is Fluotic (sodium fluoride) used for? |
Fluotic (sodium fluoride) is used in patients with diagnosed neurosensorial hearing loss or tinnitus due to otospongiosis.

|
Do not take Fluotic (sodium fluoride) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Fluotic (sodium fluoride) if you are pregnant or plan to get pregnant if you have impaired kidney functions or active peptic ulcer |
What precautions should I follow when taking Fluotic (sodium fluoride) ?

Before using Fluotic (sodium fluoride), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement if you have impaired kidney or liver function, if you have heart or lung problem |
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Fluotic (sodium fluoride)?

Fluotic (sodium fluoride) should preferably be prescribed with a daily supplement of calcium and vitamin D. |
What are the side effects of Fluotic (sodium fluoride)?

Most severe: Salivation, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea

Most common: Upset stomach, muscle pain, skin rash

How should I take Fluotic (sodium fluoride)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Fluotic (sodium fluoride) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Fluotic (sodium fluoride) can be taken with or without food. Do not stop taking Fluotic (sodium fluoride) or change the dose without checking with your health care provider. This could have serious adverse effects. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination or physical dexterity. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that may cause drowsiness (such as benzodiazepines, baclofen) while you are taking Fluotic (sodium fluoride). Inform your health care provider if you are taking an oral contraceptive. Your health care provider may have to adjust the dose of Fluotic (sodium fluoride). Lab tests or exams may be required to monitor treatment. Be sure to keep appointments. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Fluotic (sodium fluoride). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
