Most severe: Speech or language problems; other seizures; severe weakness; vision problems; serious rash; abnormal thinking; confusion; memory impairment.

Most common: Dizziness; lightheadedness; weakness; lack of energy; drowsiness; nausea; nervousness; irritability; shakiness; stomach pain; difficulty with concentration or attention; pain; diarrhea; vomiting; sleeplessness; clumsiness; abnormal skin sensations; mood swings; abnormal walking; sore throat; cough; muscle pain; flu-like symptoms; urinary tract infection.

Other: Flushing; increased appetite; mouth ulcers; muscle weakness; hostility; rapid eye movement; agitation; itching.

How should I take Gabitril (not available in Canada)?

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Gabitril (not available in Canada) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Gabitril (not available in Canada) without checking with your doctor. Seizures can occur. Take Gabitril (not available in Canada) with food. Gabitril (not available in Canada) may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Lab tests may be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medicines without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
