Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) is used to treat a variety of medical conditions including, but not limited to, insufficiency of the adrenal cortex, inflammatory disorders, allergic disorders, and connective tissue disorders.

Do not take Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) you have a systemic fungal infection

Before using Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition

It may be easier for you to get an infection while you are receiving treatment with Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet). Avoid crowded places or being near people who are sick. If you are exposed to chickenpox or measles during treatment with Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet), tell your doctor right away. Make sure any doctor or dentist who treats you knows that you are taking Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet). Before using Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet), let your doctor know if you have liver or thyroid problems, diabetes, cataracts, glaucoma, or herpes simplex that affects your eyes. Avoid getting Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) in your eyes, nose, mouth, or on your skin.

Other: Suppression of growth in children, symptoms of diabetes, thin, fragile skin, tiny red or purplish spots on the skin, vertigo

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) should only be prepared and given by a health care professional who is experienced in the use of Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet). If Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) has been used for a long period of time, it is recommended that Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) be withdrawn gradually rather than abruptly. Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) is not a replacement for regular therapy. If a period of remission occurs in a recurring condition, stop use of Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet). Use Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) at regularly scheduled intervals as prescribed. Avoid exposure to chickenpox and measles; if exposed, contact your health care provider at once. Contact your doctor if increased pain, swelling, unusual weight gain, swelling of the legs and feet, muscle weakness, black tarry stools, puffing of face, prolonged sore throat, cold, infection, increased joint stiffness, fever, or general body discomfort occurs. Diabetic patients may need a higher amount of insulin or other diabetes medicine. Talk with your health care provider. Patients on long-term treatment should wear or carry identification that states that Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) is being taken. Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) can hide the signs of an infection or decrease your resistance to infection. Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) may increase blood pressure and cause you to retain salt and water, and increase your loss of potassium. You may need to limit your intake of salt and take potassium supplements. Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) can cause calcium loss and increase your risk of osteoporosis (brittle bones). Take calcium and vitamin D supplements while you are taking Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet). Do not stop taking Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) suddenly. Tell your health care provider as soon as possible if any of the following symptoms occur when Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) is decreased or stopped: Fever; vomiting; loss of appetite; diarrhea; nausea; dizziness; weight loss; weakness; general body discomfort; joint or muscle pain. Exams may be required while using Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet). Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) without checking with your doctor. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet). Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Store Kenalog Injection (triamcinolone acet) between 59 and 86 degrees F. Do not freeze.
