Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) is used to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions

Do not take Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) or similar medications if you have tuberculous, viral or fungal skin infections

Before using Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condit

Prolonged use of Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) may result in overgrowth if non-susceptible organisms, including fungi other than candida. Should superinfection occur, suitable antimicrobial therapy must be administered. Application of Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) should be discontinued until the infection is adequately controlled. Use Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) with particular caution in facial dermatoses, and only for short periods.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Take Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. Patients undergoing stress, such as major surgery or severe infection, septicaemia, or extensive trauma, who have received extensive previous application of potent corticosteroids should receive replacement therapy to prevent possible adrenal crisis. Tell your doctor your medical history, especially of: infection to the area being treated, any allergies. Though very unlikely, it is possible Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for children and for those who have used this for an extended period of time and if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. This precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug. Tell your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur: vision problems, persistent headache, increased thirst or urination, unusual weakness or weight loss, dizziness. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details, and inform them that you use (or have used) Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide). Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) is found in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Do not stop taking Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) without checking with your health care provider. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel like you have taken too much of Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.

Store Kenalog (triamcinolone acetonide) in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children. Protect from light
