Use Kytril (granisitron HCl) only on the days that you take your cancer treatment, unless otherwise directed by your doctor. If you continue to experience moderate to severe nausea or vomiting while using Kytril (granisitron HCl), check with your doctor. Kytril (granisitron HCl) may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Kytril (granisitron HCl). Using Kytril (granisitron HCl) alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol may lessen your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks. Limit alcoholic beverages while using Kytril (granisitron HCl). |
What are the side effects of Kytril (granisitron HCl)?

Most severe: Severe allergic reaction (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); shortness of breath; lightheadedness; fainting; chest pain.

Most common: Headache; constipation; weakness; diarrhea; stomach pain; indigestion.
|
|
Other: Dizziness; sleeplessness; anxiety; drowsiness; fever; decreased appetite; chills.

How should I take Kytril (granisitron HCl)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Kytril (granisitron HCl) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with Kytril (granisitron HCl) and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Take Kytril (granisitron HCl) exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. Kytril (granisitron HCl) may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Kytril (granisitron HCl). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have taken too much of Kytril (granisitron HCl). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, restart medication if still needed and advise your health care provider or pharmacist at your next appointment.
