Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) is used to treat certain stomach, intestinal, and lower urinary tract conditions.

Do not take Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) you have glaucoma you have severe intestinal or colon problems you have an unstable heart condition or heart disease you have severe muscle weakness you have an enlarged prostate

Before using Levsin SL (hyoscyamine), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Take Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) 30 minutes to 1 hour before a meal and at bedtime. Swallow tablets whole or place under the tongue and allow them to dissolve. Do not crush or chew. Take Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) before meals. If you need an antacid, take the antacid after your meal. Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) may cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Avoid alcohol and other medicines (eg, sedation, tranquilizers) that cause drowsiness. In the presence of high environmental temperature, fever, and heat stroke due to decreased sweating can occur. Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) may cause dry mouth, difficulty in urination, and constipation. Talk with your doctor if these symptoms become bothersome. Talk with your doctor if skin rash, rapid heartbeat, flushing, or eye pain occurs. Drinking fluids, maintaining good oral hygiene, and sucking on hard sugarless candy can relieve dry mouth. Do not stop taking Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Levsin SL (hyoscyamine). Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Store Levsin SL (hyoscyamine) between 59 and 86 degrees F.
