Miacalcin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) is used to treat postmenopausal bone loss in female adults for those who refuse or cannot handle estrogen treatment or those in which estrogens are contraindicated.

Before using Miacalcin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Miacalcin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Your doctor should demonstrate how to effectively use the nasal spray pump bottle. Before the first dose is taken, allow the medication to reach room temperature. To prime the nasal spray pump, the bottle should be held upright and press the top until a full spray is produced. The pump is primed once the first full spray comes out. To take the medication, place the nozzle of the pump into the nostril with the head in the upright position and fully press the pump towards the bottle. The pump does not have to be primed before each daily use. Periodic lab tests are required. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking Miacalcin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) without checking with your doctor. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Store Miacalcin (requires refrigeration, not able to ship) new, unassembled nasal spray bottle between 36 to 46 degrees F. Protect from freezing. Store the nasal spray bottle in use at room temperature in an upright position for up to 30 days. Store any unused bottles in the refrigerator until ready to use. Throw away all unrefrigerated bottles after 30 days.
