Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate) is a contraceptive and is used to prevent pregnancy.

Do not take Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate) or to similar medications.

Before using Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

Tobacco smoking increases the risk of getting a blood clot or having a stroke while you are using Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate), especially if you are more than 35 years old. You are strongly advised not to smoke.

Other: Breast tissue changes or discharge, changes in vaginal bleeding during your period or between your periods, headaches or migraines, increases in blood sugar, especially if you have diabetes, increases in blood pressure, especially if you are known to have high blood pressure, symptoms of vaginal infection (itching, irritation or unusual discharge), tenderness in the upper abdomen, vomiting, yellowing of the eyes or skin

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate) is used for other hormone related problems in females. Most products contain a 21-day supply of pills containing the active ingredients. Some products contain an additional 7 pills containing iron or inactive ingredients to be taken during the week of menstruation; this reduces the chance of missing the first day of the next cycle. Most products are to be started on the first Sunday after you start your period or on the first day of your period. You may need to ask your health care provider which day you should start your packet.

Store Microgestin Fe (ethinyl estradiol/norethindrone acetate) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
