Mobic (meloxicam) is used for osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis to reduce pain and inflammation

Do not take Mobic (meloxicam) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Mobic (meloxicam) or to similar medications.

Before using Mobic (meloxicam), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

Mobic (meloxicam) cannot take the place of aspirin for the prevention of heart attack or stroke. If you are taking medicines that affect the clotting of your blood, such as aspirin or blood thinners such as Coumadin®, talk to your health care provider or prescriber before taking Mobic (meloxicam). If you are currently taking aspirin for this purpose, you should not discontinue taking aspirin without checking with your prescriber or health care professional.

Other: Nausea or vomiting, slurred speech or weakness on one side of the body, stomach pain or cramps, swelling of feet or ankles, unexplained weight gain or edema, yellowing of eyes or skin

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Mobic (meloxicam) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Mobic (meloxicam) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Mobic (meloxicam). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. To reduce unpleasant effects on your stomach, take Mobic (meloxicam) with a full glass of water and never just before lying down. You may also take Mobic (meloxicam) with food to decrease stomach upset. If you notice black, tarry stools or experience severe stomach pain and/or vomit blood or what looks like coffee grounds, notify your health care prescriber immediately. Do not smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol; these increase irritation to your stomach and can make it more susceptible to damage from Mobic (meloxicam).

Store Mobic (meloxicam) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
