Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) is used in patients 6 years of age and older to relieve eye itching and redness due to allergies due to pollen, smoke, dust and ragweed .

Do not take Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) if you have narrow angle glaucoma if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, difficulty in urination or narrow angle glaucoma |
What precautions should I follow when taking Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) ?

Before using Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have heart disease if you have high blood pressure if you have difficulty urinating if you have narrow-angle glaucoma if you have any other medical condition |
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate)?

If you experience eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation of the eye, or if the condition worsens or persists for more than 72 hours, discontinue use of Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) and consult your health care provider. Excessive and prolonged use of Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) produce increased redness of the eye. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. |

Most severe:ÿ Increased redness of the eye; eye pain, changes in vision.

Most common:ÿ Brief, tingling sensation.

Other: Pupils may become enlarged temporarily

How should I take Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. To avoid contamination, do not allow the tip of the container to touch any surface. Replace cap after using. Do not use Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) if solution changes color or becomes cloudy. Remove contact lenses before using Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate). If you experience eye pain, changes in vision, continued eye redness or irritation, or if the condition worsens or continues for more than 72 hours, stop using Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) and talk with your doctor. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate). Do not use more medicine than is recommended unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider.

How should Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) be stored?

Store Naphcon A (naphazoline/pheniramine maleate) between 59 and 77 degrees F. Replace cap after use. Do not use if solution changes color or become cloudy. |
