Narcan (naloxone) is used by injection to completely or partially reverse the effects of narcotics. It may also be used to diagnose overdose of narcotics.

What are the side effects of Narcan (naloxone)?

Most severe: Heart rhythm changes; difficulty breathing; seizures; sudden chest pain.
|

Most common: Nausea; vomiting; sweating.
|
|
Other: Hypotension, hypertension, ventricular tachycardia and fibrillation, and pulmonary edema

How should I take Narcan (naloxone)?

How much medicine you are given and how often it is given depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient.
