This skin patch is used regularly to help reduce the number of angina attacks (chest pains).

Do not use Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin) or to similar medications, is you have skin rash, broken or irritated skin .

Before using Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

Viagra® (sildenafil), Cialis® (tadalafil), or Levitra® (vardenafil) should not be taken with Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin) to avoid severe side effects including very low blood pressure and other complications.

Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin) is for external use only. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Use exactly as directed. One patch contains a full day's supply of nitroglycerin. It is usually worn for up to to 18 hours a day. Apply the patch to an area on the upper body that is clean, dry and hairless; avoid injured, irritated, calloused, or scarred areas. Use a different site each day to prevent skin irritation. Do not cut or trim the patch. Do not stop using except on your prescriber's advice. Do not use Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin) more often than directed. Check your heart rate and blood pressure regularly while you are using Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin). Ask your health care professional what your heart rate and blood pressure should be and when you should contact him or her. Tell your prescriber or health care professional if you feel Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin) is no longer having any effect. You may get dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs mental alertness until you know how nitroglycerin affects you. To reduce the risk of dizzy or fainting spells, do not sit or stand up quickly, especially if you are an older patient. If you feel dizzy, take several deep breaths and lie down with your feet propped up, or bend forward with your head resting between your knees. Alcohol can make you more dizzy, increase flushing and rapid heartbeats. Avoid alcoholic drinks. Do not stop using Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin) suddenly or your symptoms may get worse. Ask your health care professional how to gradually reduce the dose.If the patch pulls loose or falls off, fold it in half (sticky side in) and throw away out of the reach of children or pets. Replace with a fresh patch. Avoid use of microwave ovens that are in bad repair; leaking radiation can heat the patch, causing rare reports of burns or changes in the absorption and action of Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin). If you are going to have a MRI procedure, let your MRI technician know about the use of these patches. Some drug patches contain an aluminized backing that can become heated when exposed to MRI and may cause burns. You may need to temporarily remove the patch during the MRI procedure.

Store Nitro Dur Patch (nitroglycerin) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
