How should I take Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount andperor frequency of Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Thoroughly massage into the skin from the head to the soles of the feet. It is not necessary to put Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin) on the scalp except in children and older patients. One course of Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin) will usually cure scabies. You may experience itching after treatment. This is not a sign of treatment failure. However, if living mites are seen after 14 days, retreatment is necessary. Itching, mild burning or stinging may happen with the use of Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin). If irritation continues, talk with your health care provider. Do not allow Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin) to get into the eyes. If this does occur, flush with water at once. Remove Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin) by washing after 6 to 14 hours. Do not stop taking Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Nix Cream Rinse (permethrin). Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
