Noritate Cream (metronidazole) is applied to the skin to treat rosacea, a skin disorder, or reduce swelling due to injury or wound.

Do not use Noritate Cream (metronidazole) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Noritate Cream (metronidazole)

Before using Noritate Cream (metronidazole), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary preparation if you have a history of blood disorders if you have any other medical condition

Noritate Cream (metronidazole) is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. If condition worsens, or if symptoms persist for more than 7 days, or clear up and occur again within a few days, discontinue use of this product and consult a doctor. Do not use in large quantities, particularly over raw surfaces or blistered areas. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately.For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes and mouth. If condition persists or infection, rash or irritation develops, discontinue use and consult a physician. Do not use in large quantities, particularly over raw surfaces or blistered areas. Not for deep or puncture wounds or serious burns. Not for prolonged use. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

Other:  Tingling, numbness of arms and legs; skin and eye irritation; headache; nausea; constipation.

How much medicine you use and how often you use it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount andperor frequency of Noritate Cream (metronidazole) you are using, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with Noritate Cream (metronidazole) and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Use Noritate Cream (metronidazole) exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. Noritate Cream (metronidazole) is for external use only. Do not get Noritate Cream (metronidazole) in or near the eyes. It is important to clean the area to be treated before applying Noritate Cream (metronidazole). Apply a thin layer of Noritate Cream (metronidazole) to the affected area(s) after washing the area once daily or as directed by your health care provider. You may use cosmetics once Noritate Cream (metronidazole) has dried. Report any side effects of Noritate Cream (metronidazole), including skin irritation, to your health care provider. Do not stop using Noritate Cream (metronidazole) without checking with your doctor. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. This includes any herbal preparation or dietary supplement. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using Noritate Cream (metronidazole). Do not use more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have used too much of Noritate Cream (metronidazole). If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Store Noritate Cream (metronidazole) between 68 to 77 degrees F. Keep the tube tightly closed between applications
