Penaten

Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) is used for for the treatment of diaper rash, sunburn, scalds, dermatitis and the relief of itching due to eczema: relieves rash caused by heat and perspiration.

Do not take Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Penaten Cream (zinc oxide)

Before using Penaten Cream (zinc oxide), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions.

For external use only. Avoid contact of Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) with your eyes and other mucosal surfaces. Do not apply to large areas of the body. Do not use to treat vulvar itching associated with vaginal discharge. Use only for 7 days maximum. If symptoms persist beyond 7 days or return after discontinuing use of the product, consult a physician.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) if for external use only. Shake well before using. Apply to affected area no more than 3 or 4 times daily. Wash hands after applying. Children under 18 years of age: Consult a doctor. Avoid contact with eyes and nose. A temporary burning sensation may occur when Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) is applied but it usually disappears after several days. If severe burning occurs, stop taking Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) and consult your health care provider at once. If condition worsens or if symptoms persist for more than 7 days or clear up and occur again within a few days, consult your health care provider. Do not bandage or use with a heating pad. Do not use on wounds or damaged, broken, or irritated skin. Do not stop taking Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) without checking with your health care provider. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Penaten Cream (zinc oxide). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.

Store Penaten Cream (zinc oxide) in a dry place at room temperature between 59° - 86°F. Keep out of reach of children and pets
