Most severe: Chest pain; difficulty breathing; increased bleeding; bleeding in the eye; ulcers.

Most common: Flu-like symptoms; pain; tiredness; swelling; headache; dizziness; abdominal pain; diarrhea; nausea; indigestion; constipation; joint pain; back pain; bruising; nosebleed; depression; runny nose; bronchitis; coughing; urinary tract infection; upper respiratory tract infection; itching; rash.

Other: Bleeding from the rectum; "coffee ground vomit"; hemorrhoids; general body discomfort; weakness; fainting; confusion; coughing; chills; loss of appetite; drowsiness; joint disease; muscle pain; upper respiratory tract infection; red or purple spots under the skin; nausea; vomiting; joint pain; arthritis; nosebleed; tiredness; back pain.

How should I take Plavix (clopidogrel)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Plavix (clopidogrel) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with Plavix (clopidogrel) and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Take Plavix (clopidogrel) exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. This food may be taken with or without food. Plavix (clopidogrel) may need to be stopped if you are going to have surgery. Be sure to discuss this with your doctor or dentist. It may take longer to stop bleeding while taking Plavix (clopidogrel). Report any unusual bleeding or dark-colored stools to your doctor. Plavix (clopidogrel) may cause dizziness. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Plavix (clopidogrel). Do not stop taking Plavix (clopidogrel) without checking with your doctor. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Contact your health care provider at once if you feel you have taken too much of Plavix (clopidogrel). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your doctor. This includes any herbal preparations or dietary supplements. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
