Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) is used to treat redness, irritation, and swelling due to inflammation of the eye.

Do not take Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) or to similar medications.

Before using Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking or planning to take any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition if you have high blood pressure if you have herpes or other viral diseases of the eye, or certain bacterial or fungal diseases of the eye.

Some eye diseases, together with long-term use of Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone), can cause thinning of the cornea; you may be at increased risk for perforation of the eyeball.

Do not use Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) more often or for a longer period than your doctor orders. Overuse can increase the risk of side effects and can lead to eye damage. If your eye problems return, do not use Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) without first consulting your doctor. Keep using Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) for the full time prescribed.To avoid spreading infection, do not let anyone else use your prescription. Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) may increase the chance of infection from contact lenses. Your doctor may advise you to stop wearing your contacts while using Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone). Follow these steps to administer Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone): Wash your hands thoroughly, vigorously shake the dropper bottle, gently pull your lower eyelid down to form a pocket next to your eye. Do not touch the applicator tip to any surface including your eye, brace the bottle against the bridge of your nose or your forehead, tilt your head back and squeeze the medication into your eye, close your eyes gently. keep them closed for 1 to 2 minutes. Do not rinse the dropper. Wait for 5 to 10 minutes before using a second eye medication. If you miss a dose apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. You must stay in close touch with your doctor while using Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone), for the following reasons: If you use Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) eyedrops extensively and/or for an extended period of time, you may be at increased risk for cataracts or vision problems. Prolonged use also increases the risk of another infection. If you have had cataract surgery, Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) can delay healing. Some eye diseases, together with long-term use of steroids, can cause thinning of the cornea; you may be at increased risk for perforation of the eyeball. If you have a persistent ulceration of the cornea of your eye while using Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone), the problem may be a secondary fungus infection which Pred Forte cannot cure. An eye doctor should evaluate this possibility. If you use these eyedrops for 10 days or longer, an eye doctor should check your intraocular pressure (pressure inside the eyeball) frequently, since prolonged use of steroids may increase this pressure. If you already have glaucoma, use Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) cautiously. If increased pressure is allowed to continue, it may cause loss of vision. Corticosteroids can mask, or worsen, pus-forming eye infections. If your eye inflammation or pain lasts longer than 48 hours or becomes worse, stop using Pred Forte and call your doctor. Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) contains sodium bisulfite, which can cause allergic-type reactions, including severe or even life-threatening asthma attacks. You are more likely to be sensitive to sulfites if you suffer from asthma.

Store Pred Eyedrops (prednisolone) at room temperature in a cool dry place, protect from heat and light. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.
