What are the side effects of Requip (ropinirole)?

Most severe: Hallucinations; difficulty breathing; chest pain; impotence; pounding in the chest; blood in the urine.
|
|
Most common: Nausea; dizziness; drowsiness; headache; vomiting; fainting; fatigue; indigestion; viral infection; constipation; pain; increased sweating; weakness; leg swelling; lightheadedness; stomach pain; sore throat; confusion; urinary tract infection; vision problems.

Other: Earache, decreased hearing, vestibular disorder, ear disorder; deafness

How should I take Requip (ropinirole)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Requip (ropinirole) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Requip (ropinirole) can be taken with or without food. However, taking it with food may reduce nausea. Requip (ropinirole) may cause dizziness, lightheadedness or fainting, especially when rising or standing. If these symptoms should occur, sit or lie down and contact your health care provider. Use caution while driving or performing hazardous tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Avoid alcohol and other medicines that cause drowsiness (eg, sleeping pills, antihistamines). Inform your health care provider if you are pregnant, become pregnant, are planning to become pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding. Do not stop taking Requip (ropinirole) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Requip (ropinirole). Do not take more medication than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your doctor. If more than one dose is missed, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
