What is Scalpicin (salicylic acid) used for? |
Scalpicin (salicylic acid) is used to control scalp itch, irritation, redness, flaking and scaling associated with seborrheic dermatitis.

How should I take Scalpicin (salicylic acid)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your agem and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Scalpicin (salicylic acid) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Scalpicin (salicylic acid) is for external use only. If medicine gets into eyes, flush with water for 15 minutes. Do not inhale vapors from Scalpicin (salicylic acid). Use Scalpicin (salicylic acid) immediately after shampooing. Unlike shampoo, Scalpicin (salicylic acid) does not wash away after application. It is good to use Scalpicin (salicylic acid) when weather, hairstyling, medications and dry skin exacerbate the seborrheic dermatitis. If discomfort occurs, contact your health care provider. Do not take over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. Do not use more medicine than recommended unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using Scalpicin (salicylic acid). If a dose is missed, use it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider.

Store Scalpicin (salicylic acid) at controlled room temperature (between 59 and 86 degrees F) away from heat. Keep away from fire or flame. Keep tightly closed. |
