Selsun (selenium sulphide) is for external use only. Do not get Selsun (selenium sulphide) into eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water. For color-treated or permed hair, rinse thoroughly after using Selsun (selenium sulphide). Stop use and ask a doctor if condition worsens or does not improve after regular use. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. |

Most common: Skin irritation; hair loss; discoloration of hair (minimized by thorough rinsing); oiliness or dryness of hair and scalp.

How should I take Selsun (selenium sulphide)?

How much medicine you use and how often it is used depends on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Selsun (selenium sulphide) you are using, talk with your health care provider. Selsun (selenium sulphide) is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes thoroughly with water. Shake well before using. Remove jewelry before using Selsun (selenium sulphide). Do not use on broken skin or inflamed areas. If allergic reactions occur, stop using. Shampoo and rinse thoroughly. For best results, use at least twice a week or as directed by your health care provider. If condition worsens or does not improve with regular use, contact your doctor. Wash hands well after using. Do not take any over-the-counter or prescription medications or dietary supplements without talking with your health care provider. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before using Selsun (selenium sulphide). Do not use more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. If a dose is missed, use it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider.
