What is Suplasyn (sodium hyaluronate) used for? |
Suplasyn (sodium hyaluronate) is used as replacement for synovial fluid following arthrocentesis.

Before using Suplasyn (sodium hyaluronate), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition like heart disease, lung disease, impairment of kidney or liver functions. |

Do not administer to patients with known hypersensitivity reactions. Transient, short duration pain or swelling may occur following intra-articular injections of sodium hyaluronate |

How should I take Suplasyn (sodium hyaluronate)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Suplasyn (sodium hyaluronate) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not stop taking Suplasyn (sodium hyaluronate) without checking with your health care provider. Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Suplasyn (sodium hyaluronate). Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist. Sodium hyaluronate is the salt of a natural component of many of the tissues of the body. It is extremely well tolerated when injected into the intra-articular space. Reports of minor inflammation have been reported but are generally considered to be due to the method of administration. Each batch of Suplasyn is tested in vivo to confirm its essential noninflammatory properties.Dosage.
