Do not take Tambocor (flecainide) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Tambocor (flecainide) you have second or third degree heart block or right bundle branch block if you have a history of congestive heart failure |

Before using Tambocor (flecainide), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have had a recent heart attack if you have a history of congestive heart failure if you have any other medical condition |
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Tambocor (flecainide)?

Tambocor (flecainide) sometimes produces new irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias). Consult your health care provider for more information. Some medicines or medical conditions may interact with Tambocor (flecainide). Inform your health care provider of all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking. Do not take Tambocor (flecainide) if you are also taking ritonavir, grepafloxacin, or sparfloxacin. |
What are the side effects of Tambocor (flecainide)?

Most severe: Worsened irregular heart rhythms; liver problems; slight paralysis.
|
|
Most common: Dizziness; vision problems; difficulty breathing; headache; nausea; tiredness; pounding in the chest; chest pain; weakness; shaking; constipation; swelling; stomach pain.

Other: General body discomfort; fever; fast heartbeat; vomiting; diarrhea; upset stomach; loss of appetite; rash; double vision; numbness; abnormal skin sensations; clumsiness; flushing; increased sweating; feeling of a whirling motion; fainting; drowsiness; anxiety; sleeplessness; depression.

How should I take Tambocor (flecainide)?
|
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated, your age, and weight. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Tambocor (flecainide) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Tambocor (flecainide) should be started in a hospital setting with adequate monitoring. Serious heartbeat disturbances can result from missing any doses. Serious side effects can result from increasing or decreasing doses without consulting your doctor. Blood tests for medicine levels may be required to monitor your therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking Tambocor (flecainide) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Tambocor (flecainide). Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
