Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) is used to prevent and relieve symptoms of asthma and to treat tightness in the chest due to chronic bronchitis and emphysema. Doctors may occasionally prescribe it for other reasons.

Do not take Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) or to similar medications or products (eg, caffeine, chocolate) you have active peptic ulcer disease you have a seizure disorder you are taking a similar medication

Before using Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition

Other:  Diarrhea; irritability; restlessness; muscle tremors; increase in urination; nervousness; disorientation.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Take Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) at regular intervals around the clock. Stop taking Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) and contact your health care provider if nausea, vomiting, persistent headache, sleeplessness, or rapid heartbeat occurs. Inform your doctor of bothersome side effects such as headache, stomach pain, jitteriness, or sleeplessness. Contact your doctor if you develop a new illness, especially if accompanied by a persistent fever, if you experience worsening of a chronic illness, or if you start or stop smoking cigarettes or marijuana. Do not use Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) by itself for an acute asthma attack. Remind all of your health care providers that you are taking Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense), especially when a new medicine is added or an old medicine is stopped. Avoid large amounts of caffeine-containing food or beverages, such as tea, coffee, cocoa, and cola drinks, or large amounts of chocolate because these products may increase side effects. Lab tests may be necessary to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not stop taking Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense). Do not take more medicine than is prescribed unless advised to do so by your doctor or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it at the next scheduled time.

Store Theolair (due to nature of drug, we do not dispense) between 59 to 86 degrees F.
