Tilade (nedocromil sodium) is used for the management of asthma attacks.

Do not take Tilade (nedocromil sodium) if you are allergic to any ingredient in Tilade (nedocromil sodium)

Before using Tilade (nedocromil sodium), tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition

Do not stop or cut down on other asthma medication while using Tilade (nedocromil sodium). Tilade (nedocromil sodium) is not used for the reversal of bronchospasm in acute asthma attack.

Other:  Itching and redness in the eyes.

How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of Tilade (nedocromil sodium) you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Prime the canister by pushing down on the canister 3 times to release the medication prior to the first use of Tilade (nedocromil sodium). If Tilade (nedocromil sodium) is not used for 7 days, reprime again. Do not use Tilade (nedocromil sodium) during acute asthma attacks. Carefully follow the directions that are in the patient information leaflet, which is included with the medication. To achieve the most benefit from Tilade (nedocromil sodium) it must be taken at regular intervals on a daily basis, even when you do not have any symptoms. Do not decrease the amount of medication you are supposed to take. Tilade (nedocromil sodium) should be added to your existing treatment. Use the mouthpiece provided with Tilade (nedocromil sodium). Do not use other mouthpieces. Once your asthma is under good control, your health care provider may gradually reduce your other medications. Tilade (nedocromil sodium) should be at room temperature before use. Do not expect Tilade (nedocromil sodium) to work quickly. Sometimes two or more weeks of regular treatment are required before improvement in your asthma control will be noticed. If another inhaled medicine also is prescribed, use it first. Do not stop taking Tilade (nedocromil sodium) without checking with your health care provider. Patients with previous medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking Tilade (nedocromil sodium). Do not take more medication than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider or health care provider. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications without talking with your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider or pharmacist.
